| Sunday, June 19 On a warm, sunny Sunday morning, 4,630 runners took a five-mile tour of Central Park to celebrate both Father's Day and the festive culture of Portugal. Many daughters and sons ran with their fathers, and the younger kids (ages 2-12) had races of their own. The shouts of "Go, Dad!" were so frequent throughout the loop course that dads running the race could feel like their kids were everywhere. Families reconvened at the finish and enjoyer refreshments, traditional Portuguese music, and a raffle drawing for loads of prizes--including round-trip air tickets to Lisbon! |
