| May 8, 2011 Friends and family members, longtime runners and new converts put on their spring racing gear to run four miles this morning in the Japan Day Run for Hope, won by Ketema Nigusse in 19:47 and Olympian Yoko Shibui in 21:48. It was the children's time to shine in kids' races. For young and old alike, spring was in the air and the feeling of togetherness was palpable. Representatives of the Japanese Consulate and the Japan Day Committee thanked runners for their support and invited them to Japan Day @ Central Park, a festival of arts and culture coming up on May 22.
