| October 2, 2011 Runners gathered in Van Cortlandt Park on the first cool, crisp day of the fall for a 5K cross-country classic honoring Harry "the Brush" Murphy. A founding member of NYRR, Murphy—a sign painter by trade—hand-painted signs for many early NYRR races. Overall winners Konrad Surkont and Christina Argueta cruised over the rolling hills in the Bronx, leading the way into a new season. |
