| September 19, 2010 With preparations for the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 7, in full swing for many New York-area runners, the ING New York City Marathon Tune-Up offered a fabulous opportunity in Central Park on September 19. Throughout a beautiful morning, thousands of runners logged their miles on the park’s roadways, many of them preparing for November’s marathon in NYC or another fall 26.2-mile race. The winners, Justin Scheid of Sparta, NJ, and Fleet Feet, and Mia Swenson of Manhattan and the New York Athletic Club, led nearly 4,600 finishers. Marathoners-in-training can look forward to Grete’s Great Gallop on October 2 in Central Park and the NYRR Staten Island Half-Marathon on October 10. |
