This year's NYRR Kurt Steiner Cross Country 5K was run on a beautiful fall day, with ideal cool running conditions, in the Bronx's Van Cortlandt Park.

The race's namesake was "the voice of the New York City Marathon," Kurt Steiner, who famously announced from the marathon finish line for decades., "If you can hear my voice, you can break three hours!" (and every other round number-time) in his thick Austrian accent.  Steiner, who ran 99 marathons himself, died in 1993.
