| December 12, 2010 On December 12, NYRR held its fourth annual Holiday Sneaker Drive distribution party for about 120 NYC kids and their parents at St. Francis College in Brooklyn. Following lunch, NYRR volunteers, staff, and student-athlete volunteers from St. Francis helped Santa distribute new sneakers, many of which were purchased by individual donors, to each child. The sneakers help ensure that the kids will run safely all year. After group photos with Santa and the St. Francis Terrier, everyone was invited to attend the women's basketball game—which ended up being the team's first win of the season! Kids participated in a Hip Hop Warm-up at halftime and were given the opportunity to take shots on the court during team timeouts. |
