Linet Masai of Kenya, only 20 years old, ran the fourth-fastest time in the 39-year history of the 2010 NYRR New York Mini (30:48) to defeat a host of Olympians and world champions in Central Park. Kenya’s Emily Chebet, 24, took second in 31:13; Werknesh Kidane, 28, of Ethiopia took third. Four-time Mini champion Lornah Kiplagat of the Netherlands, making a comeback from injury at age 36, was a strong fourth in 31:40. First among Americans was Magdalena Lewy Boulet of Oakland, CA, 11th overall.  The local team competition was won by the New York Athletic Club, who edged the West Side Runners.  Central Park Track Club New Balance finished third.
