The NYRR New York Mini 10K, the world’s original women-only road race, is a special event for New York area women. Every year since the Mini’s first running in 1972, New York’s female runners have welcomed athletes from across the country and around the world to join them on the challenging terrain of “their” Central Park. In recent years, the Mini has been included as a scoring race in the NYRR team-points series, so the top local teams tend to bring out their best players in fighting form. The New York Athletic Club took the open title, led by Kelly Jaske, and the West Side Runners team placed second, with two individual top-10 performances. Athena New York won the masters division, Taconic Road Runners were first in the 50+ age group, and Millrose Athletic Association took the 60+ crown.
