| September 26, 2010 Before the world’s swiftest milers made their way from 80th Street to 60th Street in the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile, thousands of runners of all ages and speeds tried out the distance in more than a dozen age-group heats, followed by the NYRR Road Mile Championships for the fastest NYRR open-division runners. Spectators lining all 5,280 feet of the course cheered for their hometown heroes and heroines, ages 8 to 91, who made it a great day at the races. |
