| October 31, 2010 A 45-member contingent of Team for Kids (TFK) runners completed the Poland Spring Marathon Kickoff in Central Park on October 31--and most of them will be among the more than 1,500 TFK entrants in the ING New York City Marathon on November 7. TFK is a group of adult runners who raise funds on behalf of New York Road Runners youth services; in return, they receive guaranteed entry into premier events including the ING New York City Marathon. The funds allow NYRR to provide free or low-cost health and fitness programs to children who would otherwise have little to no access to regular physical activity. The programs serve nearly 100,000 children each year in New York City, all 50 states, and in South Africa.
