| December 11, 2010 More than 4,100 runners of all ages and fitness backgrounds, including hundreds of kids, flocked to Prospect Park in Brooklyn for the NYRR Jingle Bell Jog on December 11. The mood was festive, the conditions for running were ideal, and the cause was most worthy: Proceeds benefited NYRR youth programs, which bring running and healthy lifestyles to some 100,000 children in NYC, across the nation, and around the world. All entrants received a tech shirt to stay warm, and jingle bells to make noise before, during, and after running. There were yummy post-race refreshments and lots of good cheer. The winners of this four-miler were 2004 New Zealand Olympian John Henwood in 20:00 and 2012 U.S. Olympic marathon trials qualifier Catha Mullen in 21:56.
