While more than 1,800 runners and hundreds of health walkers enjoyed lovely weather in Harlem, thoughts were with the residents of Haiti during the Percy Sutton Harlem 5K Run and NYC Family Heath Walk for the Children of Haiti. The Reverend Jacques DeGraff and Congressman Charles Rangel (photo 9) fired up the walkers with rousing speeches. The singing of the national anthem of Haiti was an emotional highpoint (15). Afterwards participants enjoyed food, entertainment, and handouts at the Harlem Healthy Living health fair. Proceeds from the 5K race and the health walk went toward the William J. Clinton Foundation for the Children of Haiti.
