Run for Haiti - Kids Gallery

February 20, 2010

Among the spectators at the Run for Haiti were students from P.S. 269 in Brooklyn, an elementary school located in a community that includes many Haitian immigrants. Several of the youngsters were introduced at the start, and dozens of them cheered the runners and walkers from the sidelines. After the four-mile run/walk, hundreds of children ages 2-12 took part in free kids’ races; each finisher received a ribbon.

“This event speaks so much to what New York Road Runners is all about,” said NYRR youth programs executive director Cliff Sperber. [Coverage] [Results]
