The NYRR Gridiron Classic provided football fans with the chance to get some fresh air and a good workout before kicking back on the couch to watch the Super Bowl. Pre-event traditions were followed, such as making game-winning predictions, tossing the football, and donning team jerseys. [Results]

Cleveland Browns fan Ryan Bajornas of Astoria made sure to warm up well before the race.
A well-wrapped crowd watched this Chicago Bears fan complete the ceremonial pre-race football toss.
Runners huddled together to keep warm; the temperature reached only 17 degrees by the 9:00 a.m. start.
More than 5,200 runners powered through the four-mile Central Park loop.
Hiding underneath multiple layers was Shelly-Ann McDavid of Cambria Heights, NY.
New Jersey resident Christopher Pannone of NYAC broke the tape in 19:52.
Fellow NYAC teammate and New Jersey dweller Catherine Robbie won the women’s race in 22:28.
The cold weather didn’t keep the fans away; it was a great day for supporting all sports.
Douglas Brown of Manhattan rooted for the underdog—at least the underdog according to the “who will you root for” poll; 66% of runners correctly picked the Saints to win.
Lisa Shammas of RKTS and Staten Island showed love for the home team.
This couple made sure their lips were conditioned for Valentine’s Day.
Young runners from the Bronx joined the fun.
