Where would New York City’s runners be without Central Park? It’s the efforts of the Central Park Conservancy that maintain a miraculous 843 acres of beautiful parkland in the middle of one of the world’s busiest cities. NYRR president and CEO Mary Wittenberg and a CPC representative spoke before the event about what the park means to the local running community, and more than 5,000 runners then proved them right by racing through it. Hundreds of kids followed suit in fun races through the 72nd Street Transverse.  NYRR is honored to collaborate with CPC to make these kids’ happiness and so many runners’ accomplishments possible.
