NYRR Club Night 2010 - Winners Gallery

Running teams and individual age-group and special award winners were called to the stage to receive their awards and enjoy a moment in the spotlight. Announcers Dave Cugini and WABC Channel 7's Heidi Jones kept the proceedings lively and entertaining, while NYRR president and CEO Mary Wittenberg, vice president of event development and production Peter Ciaccia, and others gave thoughtful and heartfelt presentations. The evening culminated with the honoring of the Fred Lebow Runners of the Year and the NYRR Runners of the Decade 2000-2009.

The 60+ women's team award went to the Millrose Athletic Association (MILL)...
... and the 60+ men of the Taconic Road Runners (TRR) topped their division.
The Central Park Track Club (CPTC) won the women's 50+ age group...
...and, not to be outdone, the CPTC men's 50+ team also took the #1 spot.
Running Divas New York (RDNY) placed first among women's 40+ teams.
The 40+ men of the Warren Street Social & Athletic Club (WS) finished first.
The Hoboken Harriers won the men's open B division.
Third place, open women's division: RDNY.
CPTC placed second among open women's teams...
....and the open women of the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) were first.
Third in the open men's A division was the Greater New York Racing Team (GNY)...
...the NYAC open A men took second...
...and the West Side Runners (WSX) topped the division.
Peter Ciaccia (far left) and NYRR's volunteer services manager Philip Santora (far right) presented Volunteer of the Year awards to Mike Printz and Maria Bright.
Achilles Athlete of the Year awards went to Lamar Brown (second from left, with guide) and Nadine McNeil (far right, with Achilles Track Club's Karen Lewis).
Michael Wardian received the Ultrarunner of the Year award from NYRR professional athlete manager Sam Grotewold.
NYRR Youth Programs executive director Cliff Sperber presented the NYRR Youth Programs awards to Bryan Enriquez of M.S. 136 and Mariela Cipriano of P.S. 246..
Dave Cugini presented the age 12-14 Runner of the Year awards to Luci Cooke...
...and Luis Porto.
Heidi Jones presented the women's age 15-19 Runner of the Year award to Ivette Mejia.
The men's age 15-19 Runner of the Year was Eddie Owens.
Aziza Aliyu, unable to attend Club Night, was the women's age 20-24 Runner of the Year.
Abiyot Endale received the men's age 20-24 Runner of the Year award from Mary Wittenberg.
Muliye Gurmu was the women's age 25-29 Runner of the Year...
...and the men's age 25-29 winner was Stephen Chemlany; the runners were unable to attend.
Mary Wittenberg presented the age 30-34 awards to Kate Irvin Pfeffer...
...and Mohammed Awol.
Jenifer Martin collected the women's age 35-39 award from Peter Ciaccia...
...who presented the men's age 35-39 award to Hector Rivera.
The women's age 40-44 winner was Sheila Casey.
Paul Thompson won the men's age 40-44 award.

The women's age 50-54 division saw a tie between Sharon Vos (second from left) and Jean Chodnicki-Stemm (second from right).
The men's age 50-54 winner was Richard Temerian.
The women's age 55-59 winner was Kathryn Martin.
Yasuhiro Makoshi received the men's age 55-59 award from Mary Wittenberg.
Sylvie Kimché won the women's 60-64 age group.
Timothy Delaney was the men's age 60-64 winner.
The women's age 65-69 winner was Marilyn Greeley Walsh...
...and John Grant took top honors in the men's age 65-69 division.
Zofia Turosz topped the women's 70-74 age group.
Witold Bialokur took home the men's age 70-74 top honors.
Ginette Bedard was the hands-down winner of the women's age 75-79 division.
Joan Rowland won the women's age 80+ division...
...and Jack Haar took the men's 80+ age group.
The Fred Lebow Runners of the Year Awards, presented to the male and female runners who have exhibited the most consistently superior performances, over a variety of races and distances, throughout the year, went to Bado Worku Merdessa...
...and Buzunesh Deba.
The NYRR Runners of the Decade were Gordon Bakoulis and Kassahun Kabiso. Here's to many more decades of great running with NYRR!
