| May 22, 2010 Running 13.1 miles through Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, along iconic Ocean Parkway, and to a jubilant finish on the Coney Island boardwalk was the centerpiece of a celebration of New York’s largest borough on a gorgeous spring morning. The boardwalk finish was lined with hundreds of cheering spectators, and the post-race fun continued with a Brooklyn Beach Party featuring family-friendly fun—carnival games, mini-golf, clowns, jugglers, and more—as well as kids’ races, obstacle courses, and games. Beyond the festivities, the bright blue Atlantic Ocean beckoned—and more than a few runners soaked and soothed tired, aching feet. |
