NYRR's Annual Father's Day Race Against Prostate Cancer

High humidity and scattered showers didn’t dampen spirits at NYRR’s Annual Father’s Day Race Against Prostate Cancer in Central Park. More than 4,500 runners showed up to celebrate fatherhood and to support the fight against prostate cancer.

Runners and spectators grinned despite lingering showers.


Fourteen-year-old Sam Uprichard ran with dad David; the two finished in 41:55.


These Hempstead, NY, residents traveled to NYC to race.


The Hackensack University Medical Center offered free prostate cancer screenings.


Club teams were well represented on the starting line.


Fernanda Ramo gave a friendly wave and smile as she found her stride.


Kevin and Patricia Flynn traveled from East Meadow, NY, to run 57:25 together.


Victor Ramos of the Bronx advocated peace.


Powering up the hills in the park is always a challenge.

Muliye Gurmu of the West Side Runners won the women’s race in 28:06.
