| On a September day custom-made for cross country running, hundreds of runners of all ages and abilities ran 3.1 miles over the fabled trails of Van Cortlandt Park. The race honors the memory of Fred Lebow, who co-founded the New York City Marathon in 1970 and served as president of NYRR from 1972 until his death in 1994. | |||
