Number Pickup

Most races require that entrants pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs in advance of the race. Number pickup usually starts the Thursday prior to the race at NYRR (9 East 89th Street, between Madison and Fifth Avenues), but be sure to check the specific race listing to confirm details. Pickup hours at NYRR are usually as follows:

  • Thursday, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (for Sunday races)

Race-day pickup is generally available for an hour on race morning, either at the race location (during warm weather) or at NYRR (during cold weather). Race-day pickup is usually quite busy, so be sure to allow yourself plenty of time if you choose this option.

Except for special circumstances, such as the ING New York City Marathon and NYC Half-Marathon, no confirmation or ID is required for number pickup. Entrants may have someone else pick up their materials provided the person picking up the materials has the birth date or age (in case the name is common and we have two people with the same name on file) and the shirt size of the entrant.
