The shining star of the evening was Kathy Martin as she established a new world record , for women 60-64, in the 3000m with a time of 11:16.5, taking some 13 seconds off the previous best. Expect Kathy to go even faster in the near future as she got carried away in the early laps amid the presence of a camera crew and reporters from the New York Times. It was also very much a reunion night… Bec Wassner, the 2011 NYC Triathlon champion,returned to indoor track after several years absence and showed that she has not lost her touch. Also making a comeback after eight years, and now married with two young children, Katy Hitchcock took second in the 800m with 2:15.1 Not to be outdone by the ladies, we were also delighted to see former track great John Trautman enjoying a run in one of the 5000m heats. Finally congratulations to Kelly Chin on her recent engagement with the marriage set for May.
