NYRR Thursday Night at the Races 2012

/ Registration: 6:15-7:00 p.m. / Meet: 7:00-11:00 p.m. / New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory / Washington Heights, Manhattan

This winter, burn some rubber at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory, home to arguably the fastest indoor track in the world. Events range from 800 meters to 2 miles (plus fun relays) and are open to everyone.

Entry Fees

$20 per person, cash only. Fees are per night and entitle you to run as many races as you choose that night.

Admission fee (non competing athletes only) is $6.

Results

Results are recorded manually with runners seeded in heats according to anticipated time with the fastest going first.
The results are posted subsequently on both armorytrack.com and nyrr.org.

There are no awards.

Event Themes

January 5... A night of Brit Pop.
January 19... A night of Motown.
February 9... A night with Elton John, Abba, and the Stones.
February 23... a night with Elvis and the Beatles.

Schedule of Events

January 5: Mile; 800m; 2 mile; 4 x 800m relay
January 19: 3000m (w); 5000m (m); 800m; 1500m; 4 x 400m relay
February 9: Mile; 8 x 200m relay; 800m; 3000m
February 23: 1500m; 10,000m relay (3 heats) *

* 10 person relay, 200m legs only, each athlete runs five 200m legs. Relay entry fee is $15 per person.

Notes

Entries are restricted to athletes over 19 years of age. Due to time constraints we are unable to accomodate high school athletes except in exceptional circumstances where clearance has been obtained in advance with the meet director, Ian Brooks at ianbrooksra@hotmail.com.

About the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory

The Armory, one of the finest indoor facilities in the country, has been the site of many state, national, and world record-breaking performances. The Armory is located at 216 Fort Washington Avenue (at 168th Street) in Upper Manhattan, one block from the A, C, and 1 subway trains at 168th Street.
