Race Information

The random drawing for non-guaranteed entry to the NYC Half 2012 took place in December. Limited guaranteed entries are available via Team for Kids and other NYC Half official charities.

Course
A thrilling new course will start in Central Park and finish at South Street Seaport! Runners will start on Central Park's West Drive near 64th Street, head south, and make a complete counter-clockwise loop of the park. They'll then continue to the south end of the park, exit onto Seventh Avenue, and head south to Times Square. A right turn onto 42nd Street will take the runners to 12th Avenue (West Street/West Side Highway), where they'll turn right, go north for one block, and then make a U-turn at 43rd Street and run south along the Hudson River waterfront on West Street/West Side Highway to Lower Manhattan. They'll take the Battery Park Underpass to FDR Drive and take the South Street exit, cross over South Street onto Old Slip, turn right onto Water Street and continue to the finish line on Water Street at Maiden Lane.

Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2012 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2013.
This race is timed using the ChronoTrack d-tag timing system. The timing device will be attached to your race number. You must remove the d-tag from your number and attach it to your shoe prior to the race. It is very important that the d-tag is attached correctly. The d-tag is disposable; it will not be collected after the race. All participants in this race must wear the d-tag in order to have their times recorded.
