New York Mini 10K
Started in 1972 to promote women’s running, the NYRR New York Mini 10K continues to celebrate females’ participation in distance running events—a cause that pioneers such as Kathrine Switzer, Nina Kuscsik, and Tegla Loroupe boldly fought for.
NYC Half-Marathon
Peter Kamais of Kenya took first in 59:53. Mara Yamauchi of Great Britain won the women's win in approx 1:09:25. A record 11,494 people finished the race.
5th Avenue Mile
Two-time defending 1500-meters U.S. champion Shannon Rowbury (4:23.3) and Olympian Andy Baddeley (3:51.8) of Great Britain won the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile on Saturday, September 26.

Rain couldn't dampened the enthusiasm at the More® Magazine | Fitness® Magazine Women's Half-Marathon. The event, which was won by Sally Meyerhoff in 1:14:40, set a new record for finishers with 6,360.
UAE Healthy Kidney 10K
Gebre Gebremariam of Ethiopia set a new Central Park record of 27:42 to win the UAE Healthy Kidney 10K on Saturday, May 15. Among the women, Buzunesh Deba, representing the West Side Runners, won the race in 33:09.
