Queens Half-Marathon Soundtrack

The Queens Half Marathon soundtrack will feature many musicians connected to Queens in one way or another. Some were born there. Some were raised there. Some are long time residents. Some made music there and then moved away. No matter how you look at it – they all helped shape and continue to shape - the sound of Queens.

The soundtrack will also feature songs by artists such as Queen, Queens of the Stone Age, and Queen Latifah. We will let you discover those for yourself on race day.

Cover Songs
Songwriter: Burt Bacharach. Song: (There's) Always Something There To Remind Me. Originally sung by Dionne Warwick.
Burt Bacharach is of the most accomplished composers and songwriters of the 20th century. Here is a cover of one of his most famous songs:
Naked Eyes Always Something There To Remind Me
Original Artist: Simon & Garfunkel. Songs: Mrs. Robinson & Hazy Shade of Winter. Originally from Forest Hills Queens, Simon & Garfunkel had numerous hits in the 1960's before pursuing solo careers in the 1970's. Here are covers of two of their songs:
The Lemonheads Mrs. Robinson
The Bangles
Orinigal Artist: The Ramones. Song: Sheena is a Punk Rocker. Limiting myself to only one Ramones song for the Queens Half soundtrack was just too difficult. I allowed a second one to sneak in here by way of the cover below:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Sheena Is A Punk Rocker
