Gearing up to run the ING New York City Marathon or another fall marathon? Get in some long-distance practice with this non-competitive run, featuring built-in fuel, pace-setters, and training partners.
Course
All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.
Loop 1 (six miles): Start on the East Drive near 102nd Street and head north around the northern end of the park. Continue south on the West Drive around the southern end of park to the East Drive. Continue north on the East Drive to the 102nd Street Transverse. Turn west/left onto the 102nd Street Transverse.
Loop 2 (five miles): Start on the 102nd Street Transverse and head west. Turn left/south onto the West Drive and continue around the southern end of the park to the East Drive. Continue north on the East Drive to the 102nd Street Transverse. Turn left/west onto the 102nd Street Transverse.
Loop 3 (five miles): Same as Loop 2.
Loop 4 (four miles): Start on the 102nd Street Transverse and head west. Turn left/south onto the West Drive, left/east onto the 72nd Street Transverse, left/north onto the East Drive, and left/west onto the 102nd Street Transverse to the finish.
Water will be available all along the course. Gatorade Endurance Formula, pretzels, and fruit will be available on the 102nd Street Transverse and at the finish. PowerBar Gels will be available after mile 11 and at the finish.
Pace Groups
Participants will be divided into groups by half-minute intervals from 7:00 through 11:00+ minutes per mile. All groups will cover 20 miles, but individuals may shorten their distance to suit their training needs.
Number Pickup /Registration
Run numbers will be mailed to all entrants who register by July 3 (if you do not receive you number by July 10, please come to number pickup during the times below and a duplicate run number will be assigned to you). All others are required to pick up their numbers in advance at NYRR, 9 East 89th Street, on:
• Thursday, July 9, 4:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, July 10, 4:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, July 11, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Near the start at the registration tent on:
• Sunday, July 12, 5:45-6:45 a.m.
There is no souvenir for this event.
Note: Only the first five miles will be marked for the run. This is an unscored, noncompetitive run and does not count toward qualifying for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon. Participants must be at least 12 years old.

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules.
